works but poorly Jun 14, 2008 This is the second unit I have purchased. The first unit worked right out of the box but had poor sensitivity. The transmitter had to be placed directly on the bells in order for it to work, after a few months it stopped working all together.
The second unit has the same sensitivity problem, but is working for now.

ACE wireless doorbell chime extender Jan 12, 2008 This produce does exactly what it is supposed to. My remote unit is located about 40 feet from the transmitter and always repeats the chime. There is no wiring involved which makes it nice. However, I did have to use the option of taking the microphone sensor out of the sensing unit and put it inside the doorbell chime to make it work properly.

Didn't work with our doorbell. Jan 10, 2008 This item is identical to Heath Zenith Wireless Plug-In Door Chime Extender, White #SL-6157-D. I ordered the Zenith and it didn't work. A manufacture tech support individual walked me through set-up, but ended up saying that I would not work with our doorbell. He suggested replacing the existing doorbell! The Zenith wireless extender was returned w/o difficulty and I ordered the Ace hardware model, only to find it exactly identical the the returned item, only packaging was different. Ace hardware accepted the return (minus shipping and a restock fee).
These extenders do not work with all chimes.
Okay, it works, but not right out of the box. Jan 10, 2008 We discovered that we couldn't hear our existing door bell in the addition to our home. Thank heaven for cell phones - we had people call us to tell us they were at the front door. We wanted a quick easy solution rather than run additional wire to the new part of the house. After reading the reviews on how easy this was we gave it a shot. This thing has great range - that is not a problem. The problem was the microphone wouldn't pick up the sound from the existing door bell. I installed it within 1/2 inch of the top of the existing door bell with no luck. I tried it to the side. No luck. This does have a removable microphone I ended up using. I actually had to take the cover off the door bell and put the microphone inside the cover. (This is after I adjusted the sensitivity to max.) Perhaps I got a bad microphone, but this was far from plug and play. It ends well, it works now and we shouldn't miss hearing the door bell again.

Can't Live Without It! Nov 17, 2007 I was so glad I found this product! So easy to use. I just set the sensor pack on top of my doorbell and pluged the extention doorbell into the room I am usually in at the far end of my house. It took less than a minute and it works perfect. It you are slightly hard of hearing or have a large house this is a God send.
