Woodstock Percussion CTS Chimes of Tuscany Wind Chime

This chime celebrates one of the world's great winemaking regions in both color and tone. The ash wood parts are stained a burgundy red, and the nine matte-finish aluminum tubes, in a dark grape purple, are tuned to the poignant notes of an aria by the great Italian composer, Giuseppe Verdi. An image of grapes is burned into the wooden "feather" of the chime. Measuring 27 inches in length, the chime is weather-resistant, although the wooden parts benefit from regular oiling and the aluminum tubes from occasional cleaning. Musician Gary Kvistad founded Woodstock Chimes in 1979, and today the family-owned company produces a wide range of handcrafted, precision-tuned chimes. Takes more than a gentle breeze.... Aug 16, 2008
First, I will say that I would buy this again if given the opportunity. The product is as described...high quality and beautiful. The sound is wonderful. However, it does take more than a gentle breeze for these chimes to sound. I'm not sure why, but even when the "windcatcher" or "feather" is moving, it doesn't always translate to enough movement to produce the ringing. I live in very windy Oklahoma and the chimes are silent most of the time. They did sound beautiful during the last thunderstorm, though! Maybe I need to hang them in a different location?? Or maybe we're just having an unusual breezeless period?

In any case, I would have given these a 5 except for the amount of wind required for the chimes to sound.

All it takes is a gentle breeze and you will be rewarded with a soothing melody, forever changing. The tones are tuned to please. Quality of construction is outstanding.

I love this!!! A friend recommeded this brand of chimes to me, and I am not at all disappointed. They have a beautiful, musical sound, not at all clanging or distracting. When looking at the Woodstock line, I at first didn't buy because they all seemed to be the silver-toned chimes, and I wanted something to fit my decor better. These are a beautiful color and the sound is wonderful too. Great buy!!! I am thanking my friend with a homemade lasagna.

I purchased the chimes as a gift and now I am considering purchasing a set for myself. They are really pretty and sound good too. I would recommend these chimes to anyone.
