I purchased this same gong from a local store this past summer, and paid $30 more than Amazon charged (including shipping). Great gong for the price. Arrived on time.

The "Woodstock Percussion EGC Emperor Gong" is beautiful to look at, but when it is windy out, it is very annoying to listen to.

Wonderful Sound, Beautiful Design, Great Price Sep 11, 2005
As someone who has experience in Eastern and Western cultures, I found this gong to be beautiful and totally authentic in its rich sound of the Far East. (In fact, it's made in China!) I also think its graceful design truly captures the culture's splendor. I've seen it sold elsewhere at the full list price and understand it's always a best-seller! And it's very durable!

Chime sounds as interesting as it looks Sep 10, 2005
The Emperor Gong chime looks great and sounds interesting and pleasant. It isn't loud like a gong, but more delicate. The tone is unlike any other chime I have. I gave one as a gift and they loved it.

Have had this gong hanging in 3 different places outside my house...even in the strongest of wind, it doesn't gong. The whole thing blows, but, never does the striker actually hit the gong. Save your money!
